Alexander wanted to take over Persia. Alexander became king at 20.
Darious III- King of Persia. murdered by his own soldiers. He always ran away from the battle.
After he gets defeated by Alexander, he tries to make a peace treaty by giving Alexander 1/3 of their land. Alexander says no, keeps fighting and gets alllll of the Persian land.
They named him Pharaoh of Egypt.  Hydaspses river- Alexander tried to fight them but they had a Calvary, phalanx, elephants, Indians people fought.  Tries to make Babylonia the capital.
Died at 32.   People don't know how he died.
After he died, The empire was split into three different sections.
Helenistic culture- Culture spreading between India, Persia, and Egypt.
Alexandria- Foremost center of the commerce. People want to buy stuff, sell stuff, do stuff, learn stuff
Euclid- mathematician.  Museum that astronomers could go and study the stars and planets.
Archimedes - computed pi to more digits then we thought.  Greek mathematician
Lysistrata- Aristophenes- no sex for husbands if they continued fighting in the war
oedipus Rex- Sophocles- Faite prodicted that he would sleep with his mom and kills his dad.
Aristrocracy- Aristocrats, wealthy and noble people
Democracy- people vote
Socrates- posin hemlic- charged with disrespecting the Gods and courroupting the youth of Athens. Socratic Method.  (First)
Plato (Second)- sat in Socrates Trial and wrote a book about socrates apology. He included the allegory of a cave.
Aristotle-(third) decided to gather all the knowledge together and made a sort of library. Liceum (like google) Alexander's tutor.

Cloaca Maxima (largest ancient drain) which channeled water to the tiber. Lucius Tarquinias is is the final king of rome and he is proud of his accomplishments but he is a tyrant and got rude. The line says “no wonder they didn’t want any more kings” In the book it says that the new king seized power from his own dad (sextus). Then the lyrics say “Can this get any worse? Yes” This shows that Sextus tried to force himself upon Lucretia. She says no and Sextus threatens to kill her. The next line of the rap says “they turned around and ran that tyrant outta town / next thing you know, no kings no more…” This shows that the people rose up and kicked the whole family out of Rome, which is what the book says. Another line from the rap says “Hey, we got three governments rolled into one Patricians and plebeians havin’ some fun”. The book ...
